Recycling

If your Canon IXUS battery is dead – recycle!

There comes a time in the life of any battery – including the canon IXUS battery that arrived with your new camera – when they can no longer be recharged and it’s time to replace them. Everything wears out in the end!

However, before you throw it in the bin, make sure you investigate your recycling options. It’s much better for the environment and it might be easier than you think. Some areas have local battery recycling points, as do some stores; or you might be able to send your defunct power source away for recycling. Check online and you might save the world from yet another lump of metal and plastic in the landfill…

I’m going to recycle my phone for money…

I was just browsing the web the other day when I came across an interesting site that will allow me to recycle my phone in return for a cash payment. It’s a really good set up – they send you a prepaid envelope and you just post the phone off to them, and receive a cheque in return. The amount you get depends on what model your phone is.

I’ve actually got quite a few old mobiles lying around from when I’ve upgraded my handset. I’m going to send this one off first, and, if all goes well with it, I’ll fire off the rest of them as well. It’s good to know you’re doing your bit for the environment and getting paid at the same time.
