Family attractions in Scotland – something for everyone

Parents who live north of the border are spoilt for choice when it comes to taking the children out for the day. The region is home to a diverse range of venues which offer unforgettable times for mums, dads and children, from heritage-rich castles to fun-packed water parks.
There are so many family attractions in Scotland to choose from, so a little pre-planning can be a good idea. A quick look on the Internet will show just how many options there are in any given area, and each family member can give his or her opinion on which one should be chosen.

Buying Games Consoles

No longer the sole preserve of geeks, games consoles are now on most people’s shopping lists. There are portable ones, handheld consoles, sleek units which integrate with your home entertainment system, those you play alone and those you play with friends or other online gamers.

Prices differ widely, and it’s important to focus on models which suit your needs.

Before you buy ask yourself what your budget is, how you want to use your console, what games you wish to play, and how flexible you want the model to be. Also ask yourself whether its physical appearance matters to you.

You can use the Internet to compare the prices and features of different products. Log on and learn more.

Get hold of some theatre tickets in London for top class entertainment

London boasts an embarrassment of riches when it comes to plays, musicals, opera and more, so if you can get your hands on some theatre tickets in London, you’re bound to have a memorable evening.

The choice varies from big glitzy West End shows to smaller, more intimate venues. You might laugh, cry, or both – it depends what kind of mood you’re in! Getting hold of your tickets couldn’t be easier, either: there are plenty of websites offering last minute deals or discounted rates. You can also buy tickets from kiosks offering cheap deals, and some theatres have spare seats available just before a performance – sometimes it’s good to try your luck and see what happens. You never know, you could witness something unforgettable!

Theatre ticket vouchers – the ideal gift

It was my sister’s birthday last week, so to celebrate I gave her some theatre ticket vouchers. I’d never heard of these before I stumbled across them online, but they make an ideal gift.

They are available in a variety of denominations, and are accepted by theatres throughout the UK. Also, they don’t have an expiry date, so my sister will be able to wait until something she really wants to see comes on before using her vouchers.

She’s always loved the theatre, so my gift will hopefully give her an excellent night out in the future that she will really enjoy. I’m usually not very good at getting presents for people, so I’m really pleased that I got my act together this time…

IT jobs to be axed by planned BBC website cuts

The BBC has just announced a set of swingeing cuts which are bound to see a number of IT jobs being axed in the organisation in the months and years to come. The are planning to half the size of their website in the next two years. I don’t see the point in this. The BBC’s website is one of the largest and most prestigious in the world – why would they want to slim it down when one of its great benefits is its size?

Even worse, they’re planning on closing down 6 Music, which is currently by far the best radio station in the UK. There is a Save 6 Music petition online that you can sign to show your opposition to these plans – please do if you are a fan of the station.
