I’m going to recycle my phone for money…
I was just browsing the web the other day when I came across an interesting site that will allow me to recycle my phone in return for a cash payment. It’s a really good set up – they send you a prepaid envelope and you just post the phone off to them, and receive a cheque in return. The amount you get depends on what model your phone is.
I’ve actually got quite a few old mobiles lying around from when I’ve upgraded my handset. I’m going to send this one off first, and, if all goes well with it, I’ll fire off the rest of them as well. It’s good to know you’re doing your bit for the environment and getting paid at the same time.

Pre-paid credit cards good for avoiding debt
Prepaid credit cards are a good way for people worried about falling into debt to ensure that they remain in the black. According to recent figures, credit card debt has risen to £54 billion over the course of the last year, so it is clear that debt is a real problem for many in the UK.
With a pre-paid credit card, users can only pay out what they put into the card. David Roger, managing director of the Debt Advice Foundation, said: “Basically the customer gets all of the advantages of using a credit card, for example being able to pay for goods over the telephone or not needing to carry cash but without the risk or temptation of spending more money than they have”.

Lambswool clothing – one of my favourites
As we all know over here in the UK, this winter has been particularly harsh. When it’s not been snowing, it’s been raining, and even when it’s (relatively) fine, there’s still an icy wind to contend with. I read somewhere that this is the coldest we’ve had for the past thirty years – speaking from personal experience, I think I would definitely agree!
So my lambswool clothing has come in really handy this year. It’s great at keeping the warmth in and the wind out. The natural fibres of lambswool have a softness and comfort level that synthetic fibres simply cannot match, which makes lambswool such a pleasure to wear.

Making your IBM ThinkPad battery last longer
There are a number of handy tricks and techniques you can use to make your IBM ThinkPad battery last longer than it otherwise might. One idea is to keep it cool – if it gets too hot, it will use more power in cooling itself down again. You should also never keep it constantly charging when not in use. Wait until the battery is completely drained before recharging and you will keep your battery in tip-top condition.
The more you take care of your battery, the more performance you will get out of it. Although they can be a bit of a pain to charge, you’ll find the longer battery life to be very handy indeed.

Compare credit cards online for great savings
Price comparison sites have grown in popularity in recent years. You can even compare credit cards online using such sites, so you can quickly and easily see at a glance where the best deals are to be found. The rates charged by various credit cards vary enormously, and you can easily find yourself paying more than you have to if you don’t shop around.
Be sure that you know exactly what type of card you want before you start searching, though – you might want 0% interest for a period, or a card that gives you cashback whenever you purchase something with it. Be aware what the choices are before you start looking.

Looking for flats to rent, Kilmarnock
So there’s a possibility I could be moving to Kilmarnock to take up a web design job. I had a little scout about on the Internet for flats to rent Kilmarnock, and I was surprised by the range available. I don’t know Kilmarnock at all really, so I don’t know what the different areas of the town are like, but there seems to be some nice properties there.
I don’t know if I’m going to get the job or not – it’s still a bit up in the air at the moment – but I thought I should look into accommodation and things anyway, just to be prepared. I’m actually quite looking forward to it, as I’ve been here for a while so I reckon any kind of change has to be a good thing.
